OldTravelNurse.blog was created for my very first class in the Master’s Program, COM 561. It serves as a platform where current and potential travel nurses can exchange insights, seek advice, and find encouragement from fellow professionals. At the time, I had just completed my first travel nurse contract and thought it would be interesting to share my experiences, as well as provide a space for others to share theirs.
The project included the development of a logo using Adobe Illustrator, another new program for me. I am proud of the final product, despite the challenges I faced during its development.
In a later class, COMSTRAT 565, I redesigned and expanded the blog. By then, I had completed my second travel nurse contract and had more perspectives, stories, pictures, features. I added social media mockups at this time.
One of my favorite design elements is the red stethoscope, a detail that creates a cohesive theme across several of my projects.

Homeward Bound
Homeward Bound was created for Capstone 701. It was part of a series of creations, including a website, and social media posts, capturing a trip my mom, son, and I took in the Summer of 2024 back to our home roots on the Olympic Peninsula.
This project was extremely meaningful for me, as it captured the personal pleasure I derive from documenting family history in a meaningful way. It also highlighted my technical skills in integrating various platforms to showcase my ability to weave a collective story across different mediums.
These two videos were published on Facebook and Instagram as part of the the Homeward Bound project.
